Indians Arrive by Ship 1960

Getting closer…

Dear supporters

As the walk gets nearer, I am thinking more and more about India. Although I was born in India, it is just like a foreign country to me. I left India in my early 20’s and never had the chance to see much of the country, which is why the last walk was such an eye opening experience for me. I particularly enjoyed walking through the west / south west and the south. I enjoyed it so much and the memories will always remain with me.

With ‘Full Circle, I am looking forward to seeing the other side of the country; the south /south east /east, north east and finishing in Delhi (the north west). I have been told that the south east is very beautiful, the people are highly educated and cultured. Kolkata will be fascinating, as my family have ties are with this city. My father and my three brothers lived there for more than 50 years. Every state I will be passing through will be a novelty for me. It will be just like visiting a different country because of the different languages, food, climate and customs.

It will be an adventure, but I am also mindful of the most important reason for doing the walk; raising £1.5 million to help disadvantaged children from across the globe. Please visit the India Association website and make a donation (any amount will be greatly appreciated) to help us make this goal a reality. You can donate by clicking here.

I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to our ‘Bobby’s Walk Black Tie’ event, which will be held at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel in London on Saturday 10th October 2015. It will be the final fundraising event before I fly to India to begin my journey and all of the proceeds from the event will go to the Bobby’s Walk Full Circle fund.

We will be joined by Bobby’s Walk Patrons, Virendra Sharma MP, Professor Colin Green and Baroness Verma, plus other special guests.

Tickets are £125. If you would like to find out more, please contact Dr Rajan Bhanot ( or call 07990 750000

Thank you for your support.
