The India Association are delighted to be able to share some video footage from our recent Vaisakhi event, where Bobby Grewal (India Association Chairman), Professor Colin Green (Bobby’s Walk Full Circle Patron) and Mr Sukhdev Singh Sidhu (Minister of Coordination at India House) made speeches about Bobby’s Walk Full Circle.

Bobby spoke about his feelings about the 2,600 mile journey ahead and thanked everyone for their support so far:

You can also see the speech made by Bobby’s Walk Patron and friend of Bobby Grewal, Professor Colin Green, who refers to Bobby fondly as his ‘Sikh twin’:

Finally, there was a speech made by India House Minister of Coordination, who praised Bobby for his dedication to raising money for charity and wished Bobby the best for his journey ahead:

The Vaisakhi event was a very special fundraiser, which has raised £11,000 for the Bobby’s Walk fund so far.

If you would like to make a donation to support Bobby and the India Association after seeing these videos, please visit our ‘Donate’ page and make a donation online. Every penny really does help.

The India Association are now busy preparing for ‘Bobby’s Walk Black Tie’, which is taking place on Saturday 10th October at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower in Knightsbridge.

This will be a very poignant occasion, as it will be the final fundraising event before Bobby leaves for India to begin his 2,600 mile walk and we will be joined by representatives from the British Asian Trust, Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, our Bobby’s Walk Patrons, Virendra Sharma MP, Professor Colin Green and Baroness Verma and we are currently confirming the attendance of other special guests.

Tickets are £125 per person. Please contact Dr Rajan Bhanot ( or call 07990 750000 for more information and to book tickets for Bobby’s Walk Black Tie.

Thank you for your support.
