It’s now only 2 days until Bobby boards the plane for India, and it’s a time of mixed emotions. It is a sad time, as Bobby says goodbye to his family for 6 months, but also exciting, as all the hard work, planning and training is about to come to fruition.
And at this late stage, we’ve had some fantastic news! Air India has become our Travel Partner and is helping to get Bobby’s Walk off the ground by flying Bobby and Walk Manager Dr Rajan Bhanot from London Heathrow to Delhi on Saturday 17th October.
Following our recent Black Tie fundraiser, which was attended byPaula Chattaraj (Officer – PR & Corporate Sales, Air India UK), the premier flight carrier of India with the direct help of Tara Naidu (Regional Manager UK/Ireland and Europe) wanted to pledge its support by sponsoring Bobby’s flights, which is a fantastic gesture.
Bobby was delighted to hear of Air India’s support, and said
“The India Association is extremely grateful to Air India, both for their support at the Black Tie event and by donating these flights for myself and Rajan. Every penny saved on logistics is a penny that will go to Great Ormond Street Hospital, The British Asian Trust and our supported charities within India, so on behalf of everyone, thank you.”
Air India’s impressive fleet includes the fantastic Boeing 787 Dreamliner which sets the benchmark for in flight service and comfort. Furthermore, the Dreamliner is is 21% more fuel efficient than other similar sized aircraft in their fleet, which means much less carbon dioxide emissions which is good news for the environment.
